> man maguyva
We built this because it was fun.
AI hallucinations were not fun to deal with. Building tools to kill them was. No outside capital, no board meetings, and no reason to charge you more than it costs to run this properly.
> git log --first-commit --format="%s"
Why this exists.
Maguyva exists because two people got tired of agents hallucinating about code that was right there in the repo. The fix was not a better prompt. It was a better index.
There was no market analysis. No competitive landscape slide. Just a problem that kept wasting hours and a conviction that grounding agents in the actual codebase would make them stop guessing.
We have the luxury of no outside capital. That means no one tells us to ship a feature to justify a funding round, and no one tells us to price the product based on the maximum the market will tolerate. The constraint is simpler: does it work, and can we keep the lights on.
// the pitch deck is this website. there is no pitch deck.
> cat /proc/cost_basis
The bill.
We are charging you for this service because we have underlying costs. Not for the software that was generated through prompts, but for this product to work properly as it relates to cloud compute, cloud storage, and vector embeddings.
We do not compromise on quality. Quality embeddings on bare-metal machines with high core counts and deep memory to maximize pipeline speed. Dependency graphs rebuilt hourly on paid plans. The price reflects what it costs to run this well, not what the market will tolerate.
// we are not optimizing for a Series A. we are optimizing for you not leaving.
> grep -r "sell_data" ./src/ --count
0 results.
Your data is not the product. Free plan or paid — same policy. There is no second business model running underneath the one you see. We are not going to sneak in a privacy clause change six months from now that lets us train on your code.
You connected the repo. You own the index. Disconnect and we delete it - code, embeddings, graph edges. Purged from backups within 30 days.
// 0 matches. that's the whole policy.
> cat /etc/free-tier.conf
Free means free.
The free plan is not a demo. It is not a trial. It is the real product with a smaller repo limit. No ads, no tracking pixels, no 'you've hit your limit' popups every third query. We will not punish you for not paying us.
We made it free because we wanted it to be easy to try and big enough to be actually useful. If it works for you at that scale, great. Use it forever. We would rather have people using Maguyva than not using it.
If you find yourself relying on it and want to index more code or get faster refresh cycles, upgrading is the way to support what we're building. But that's your call, not ours to nag you about.
// no ads. no upsell nags. no 'upgrade to unlock' dark patterns.
> man unsubscribe
Easy to leave.
If you want to unsubscribe from our services for any reason, we will not make that process difficult. Churn reduction in our world means making a better product that you want to keep paying for, not making it harder for you to leave.
Month to month. Cancel anytime. If we have to lock you in, we've already lost.
// our churn reduction strategy is making the product not suck
> chmod 755 ./your_workflow
Your agent, your rules.
The context window is your space, not ours. We want to make it possible for you to turn our tools on and off in a manner that gives you control.
We have tools, but maybe you don't want all of them. Disable what you don't need. We have tool descriptions which are essentially ways to guide the agent toward usage. Want to aggressively recommend our tools? Do it. Want to reduce it? Go for it. We'll provide sensible defaults, but it's up to you how much to integrate into your workflow.
This is coming soon. We're building the controls now — not as an upsell, just as a feature that needs to exist. When it ships, it ships for everyone.
// it's your agent. we just give it better eyesight.
> rm -rf ./feature_gates ./seat_calculator
No feature gates. No seat math.
You will not hit your head on a paywall that asks you to upgrade to unlock a tool that was already running. Every plan ships every tool. The difference is how much code you can index, not which buttons you're allowed to press.
You will not hit your head on a seat counter. We want your whole company using this product and enjoying it. If that means more usage, you might need a bigger workspace. If people don't use it, you won't get stuck paying for empty chairs.
SaaS is dead. Most people just don't realize it yet.
// per-seat pricing died in 2025. some invoices just haven't heard yet.
> whoami
We are humans.
If you have ideas about what we should build, tell us. If something is broken, tell us. If you think the pricing is wrong, tell us that too.
We're experimenting with something: your agent can tell us directly. The ask_maguyva tool has a feedback channel — your agent can report bugs, suggest features, or flag things that aren't working, right from your terminal. We're closing the loop between the tool you use and the team that builds it.
You can also join the Discord. We're just getting started and it's small, which means you'll actually talk to the people building this, not a community manager.
// we read the messages. both of us.
